Install1 FAQs

FAQs

Clear answers about how Install1 works, who it is for, pricing, payouts, certifications, background checks, and how to get support.

Install1 is a marketplace for the print and graphics industry. It connects print shops and graphics teams with qualified professional installers for vehicle wraps, wall murals, window film, storefront graphics, fleet projects, signage, and related field-installation work. Print shops post jobs and manage the full hiring and payment flow in one place. Installers claim jobs, build a professional profile, and get paid reliably.
Because the real cost is not just the install rate — it is coordinator time, slow back-and-forth, uncertain availability, and bad field outcomes. Install1 gives print shops one place to post work, review qualified installers, require specific certifications, approve completed jobs, and process payment. The goal is to replace scattered texts, calls, and spreadsheets with a single, organized workflow.
Create a print shop account if your team needs to source installers, post jobs, manage job approvals, and keep installation work moving without relying on informal outreach. Print shops pay per completed job — there is no monthly subscription.
Create an installer account if you want to showcase your credentials, claim jobs that fit your location and skill set, manage your payout details via Stripe Connect, and build repeat business through a professional marketplace profile. Installers can start free and upgrade to Pro ($5/month) for more claiming power and visibility.
Install1 turns inconsistent lead flow into a more reliable pipeline of real work. Installers can build a visible, credentialed profile, claim opportunities without heavy sales effort, and receive payouts through Stripe Connect — all in one place instead of chasing each shop separately. The free plan covers up to 5 job claims per month; Pro removes that limit and adds priority placement in search results.
Install1 charges a 7.5% total platform fee split equally between both parties — 3.75% added to the print shop's charge and 3.75% deducted from the installer's payout. On a $250 base install price, the print shop is charged $259.38 and the installer receives $240.63. Installers see their exact payout amount before claiming any job. Print shops see their total charge (including the 3.75% service fee) before posting. Installers can also subscribe to the Pro plan for $5/month for additional features.
Your payment method is charged when you approve the completed job inside Install1. The charge is the base install price plus your 3.75% service fee. If a job is cancelled before an installer claims it, no charge is made.
When a print shop posts a job and an installer completes it, the print shop reviews the work and marks it approved inside Install1. Payment is charged to the print shop and Install1 immediately initiates the installer payout via Stripe Connect. Once initiated, payouts typically arrive within 2–3 business days depending on Stripe, the installer's bank, and account status. Installers must have a connected Stripe account to receive payouts. You can set up your Stripe payout account from your installer dashboard.
First, confirm that the print shop has approved the job inside Install1 — payouts are not initiated until approval occurs. Also verify that your Stripe Connect account is fully set up and your bank details are correct in your installer dashboard. If the job shows as approved and your bank details are correct but no funds have arrived after 3 business days, email support@install-1.com with your account email, the job ID, and your Stripe Connect account status. We will review and follow up directly.
If a print shop believes work was not completed to the agreed standard, they can dispute the job through the platform instead of approving it. Install1 will acknowledge active disputes within 3 business days of submission. Held funds remain held during any active dispute. Install1 may facilitate communication between both parties or provide a determination based on submitted documentation. Installers and print shops are each responsible for the quality, scope, and timelines of the work agreed between them.
Print shops may cancel a posted job before an installer claims it at no charge. Once a job is claimed, cancellation requests should be submitted via the platform and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Installers who cancel after claiming a job are subject to account review. Payments that have already been processed are refundable only in cases of documented non-completion or dispute resolution in the print shop's favor. Install1 Pro subscriptions ($5/month) can be cancelled at any time through your account settings; you retain Pro access through the end of the current billing period.
No. Install1 does not conduct criminal background checks or license verification on installers. Installers submit certification documentation that is reviewed by the Install1 team before credentials appear publicly on their profiles, but Install1 does not independently re-verify certifications with their issuing bodies. Print shops are encouraged to review installer profiles, ratings, and credentials before hiring, and to communicate any specific qualification requirements when posting a job.
If a job receives no claims within a reasonable time, you can edit the job details — adjusting the description, pay rate, or timeline — to make it more attractive to available installers. You can also reach out to specific installers you have worked with before or browse installer profiles to invite qualified candidates. If a job sits unclaimed for an extended period with no activity, contact support@install-1.com and we can help assess availability in your area.
Installers on Install1 are independent contractors, not employees of Install1. Each installer is solely responsible for the quality, safety, and outcomes of their work, and is expected to carry appropriate liability insurance. Install1 is not liable for property damage, injuries, or losses arising from work performed by any installer through the platform. If damage occurs, the dispute process inside Install1 can be used to document the issue, but resolution of any property damage claims is between the print shop and the installer directly.
No. Vehicle wraps are an important category, but Install1 is built for the full range of print-and-install work: signage, wall graphics, storefront graphics, fleet projects, window film, vinyl removal, and other field-installation jobs where vetted labor and clean handoff matter.
Installers upload their certification documentation when creating their profile. The Install1 team reviews submitted credentials before they appear publicly on the installer's profile. Certifications are issued and owned by the respective third-party programs (3M, Avery Dennison, IWFA, LLumar, Orafol, etc.); Install1 does not independently re-verify them with the issuing bodies.
Log into your installer account, go to Account Settings, and select Subscription. You can cancel at any time. After cancellation, your Pro access continues through the end of the current billing cycle. You will not be charged again after that. If you have trouble cancelling, email support@install-1.com with your account email.
Install1 currently serves the United States. Stripe Connect payouts and the installer geography search are built around US addresses and banking. If you are operating outside the US, contact support to discuss availability.
Install1 processes payments through Stripe. Print shops can pay using major credit and debit cards accepted by Stripe. Installers receive payouts to their connected US bank account via Stripe Connect.
